“Roda is indeed one of the “Young Guns” of the western art scene, and certainly one to watch”
- Davison Koenig, Executive Director & Curator, Couse-Sharp Museum, Taos NM
Artist Andrew Roda
The western spirit imbued in Andrew as a child has always been the subject on his canvas. Branded a portrait artist of objects, Roda embraces a contemporary twist on the traditional still life - capturing the intricate details, realism, and spirit of the subjects while still maintaining a painterly flair to his technique. Bold colors, high contrast settings, and judicious use of negative space serve to spotlight these objects while giving them the space to breathe.
“Andrew Roda has quite a past—and a future that is glowing bright. He walked onto the polo team in college despite not knowing how to ride a horse. He did a lucrative stint as an East Coast investment banker before going to Hollywood and serving as Johnny Depp’s stand-in for a Tim Burton film. He’s hiked the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim in less than a day, and he’s done the Ironman a few times. Somewhere in between those adventures, he taught himself to paint—and he’s pretty darn good at it”, Art of the West Magazine: Renaissance Man, August 2025.
Roda resides in Toluca Lake, CA. He is represented by King Galleries in Scottsdale, AZ and Sage Creek Gallery in Santa Fé, NM. National publications featuring his work include: Western Art Collector, Southwest Art Magazine, and Art of the West.
Roda’s work will be showcased and auctioned in the upcoming Briscoe Museum’s Night of Artists in San Antonio, TX in March, 2026.
